Letters to the Editor: Dale Basham, A Leader of Action

As an involved young professional in the Muncie community, I am excited to announce my full support for Dale Basham in his run for state representative in District 34. Dale has been a close mentor to me and has inspired me with his passion for all things Muncie and his drive to accomplish wonders.

Dale has a storied history regarding education in Muncie. Throughout his career in education Dale has had a positive impact upon thousands of students — myself included.

My friendship with Dale began when he served as the interim principal at Muncie Central the year prior to Southside and Central merging. Dale leads by example and his leadership style and voice of reason were vital in bringing rivals together.

I also know Dale through his involvements around the community. Dale is a driving force for the both the local noon Rotary Club and Rotary across the state. Dale has served as Rotary district governor and I served as his intern. During this time, he inspired me to grow as a young professional and a leader. I can confidently say that I would not be who I am today without Dale’s mentorship.

Dale will bring a unique passion and genuineness to the state legislature. During a time where politics can be so controversial, I feel that Dale is truly someone who can unite, not divide.
